CORD and Jubilee war seems to get tougher and tougher based on the rallies that were held today at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru and Uhuru Park.

It is the first time that national celebrations have been held outside Nairobi and the president promised that this will be a trend and is here to stay. He also promised that this year’s Jamhuri day celebrations will be held in Machakos.

In president Uhuru Kenyatta’s speech, he mentioned that he welcomed CORD leaders to the national celebrations in Afraha Stadium, Nakuru, but they did not show up.

In the CORD rally held in Uhuru park, Nairobi, CORD leader Raila Odinga defended the act saying that they did not ignore his invite, it came late. He also added that it was the main reason why the rally was set to start after the national celebrations in Afraha stadium.

sisi hatukususia kuenda nakuru, tulimuambia ni vile alituita kama amechelewa. Na ndio maana tulisema, tutaanza yetu kama yake imeisha.
na pia tukasema, hakuna matusi hapa

This came a day after Uhuru Kenyatta hosted CORD leaders in State house and photos emerged of how the leaders were enjoying life and laughing all the way.
