The driver of the Ongata Rongai matatu that killed four people along Lang’ata Road last week was due to appear in court Monday morning.
Reports to newsrooms has it that the driver was arrested on Sunday night after being intercepted where he was hiding since the accident
Nairobi Traffic commandant Leonard Katana confirmed the arrest.
“I want to tell you that we have at last arrested the driver of the Ongata Rongai matatu that killed four people along Lang’ata Road and he will be appearing at the Kibera Law Courts this morning,” he stated.
Katana indicated that he would face charges of causing death by dangerous driving.
His employers had been given seven days to produce him after he went into hiding.
The Traffic Police Boss further thanked the public for the role they played in the arrest.
“Members of the public played a huge role in his arrest and I want to thank everyone for their assistance in this regard,” he stated.
