CORD principal Raila Odinga was involved in a road accident yesterday and was speculated to be an attempt on his life.
His director of communications, Philip Etale, said it was because of his anti-IEBC agenda that he was targeted.
It was also reported that the driver of the other car was arrested and released by the police who wanted to keep the accident quiet. The assailant hit his car on the side he sits.
According to his Director of Communications, Philip Etale, the incident was kept hushed as the driver was arrested and later released.
“Police have kept this incident quiet. CORD wants to make it clear that no amount of intimidation or public pronouncements that have no constitutional bearing will stop thm from pushing the government to agree to dialogue on reforms in the IEBC,” wrote Etale.
On Monday, May 16, 2016, another of his vehicles was shot at during the CORD anti-Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission demonstrations in Nairobi and no investigations have been made so far. However no injuries have been reported
