Kisumu Central Member of County Assembly (MCA) Paul Odhiambo Okiri has been missing since the evening of Thursday, September 29, after he failed to return home, his wife Pamela Okiri told police.
According to Pamela, she talked to her husband at about 8.30pm, when he said he was on his way home,
“We got worried. At around 5.30 am, we noticed his car at the neighbour’s compound,” she said as quoted by the paper on Friday.
She added that they found the door of the car open and the keys and the MCA’s mobile phone inside.
Kisumu county police boss Willy Lugusa confirmed the incident saying investigations were launched and that they were in the process of getting statements from people who last contacted Odhiambo.
“We assure the family that we will get down to what transpired and the whereabouts of the MCA,” the paper quoted him.
Following the news, residents poured in the streets, barricading the road at Daraja Mbili in protest of the disappearance.
