After Ababu Namwamba ODM exit, now details have emerged that three Members of Parliament (MPs) of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) were offered money to join the Jubilee
According to the source one of the members was Kilifi Woman Representative Aisha Jumwa who claimed on Tuesday that she declined an offer of Sh20 Million from Jubilee to defect from ODM.
“Juzi walinifuata na kaoffer ka Sh20 million nikawaambia my dear hiyo ni pesa yangu ya outing…outing. Kama walikaa huko wakafikiria labda Aisha Jumwa atatishika na pesa ati oh,” Jumwa affirmed.
“Recently they came to me with an offer of Sh20 Million…I told them I use that to go out. They are mistaken if they thought that Aisha Jumwa can be bought…” translation of the Swahili statement above
On the other hand, Luanda lawmaker Chris Omulele and his Emuhaya counterpart Wilbur Otichillo indicated that senior Jubilee officials offered them ”good money” to denounce the Orange party but they declined.
“They have tried so many times but I want to announce here that anyone spreading the rumours that I have been bought is lying to you, I can’t and will never accept goodies,” Mr Omulele said on the second day of Raila Odinga’s tour of the Western region.
The two legislators vowed to stay put adding that they would not follow the likes of Ababu Namwamba and Paul Otuoma, who quit their positions in ODM and have been expressing discord with the Opposition party.
