Mp Arrested With Over 1000 ID cards After The Public Hinted Of Voter Registration Offences

Police have denied claims of arresting Mathare MP Stephen Kariuki, following the protests that were witnessed along Juja road on Tuesday evening.

A section of angry youth barricaded Juja road in protest of the legislator and his brother over the illegal possession of about 1000 identification cards.

BVR kits were allegedly nubbed in Eastleigh, Nairobi, only a week ago

The protests temporalily paralyzed transport along the route.

Police have now said that the MP was never arrested as he managed to slip away, although his brother was apprehended and locked up at the chief camp cells

According to Starehe OCPD Kimeli, he received no word on the arrest of the MP, although some sections of the public had managed to corner his brother.

As at now, the whereabouts of MP Stephen Kariuki remain to be clarified
