Victor Holvik,a 27 year old orphan, who is the founder of the slin kids library in Mathare slums where he grew up, despite having no role model, he was inspired by the lessons he learnt in life, victor is also a freelance film maker and he supports the organization through it.
The non-profit organization started with 10 kids two years ago despite the room being small it now has a traffic of more than 300 kids but can hold 50 kids at a go, University and College students are allowed to visit the library too.
“Growing up in the slums with no parents was not that easy.I used to stay with my grandmother and life was very cruel at times and I don’t want the kids in mathare where I grew up to go through the same. Let it be fair to them and who knows maybe in future they will help my kids in one way or the other and thats why I won’t get tired of helping the community” Said victor.
Victor Holvik well known as hawk eyes in Mathare,do supports talents in any way that he can,he has a football group for girls and photography classes plans are in progress.
Appearing on Damka show today ,hawk eyes advised people with interest of helping the community to follow their heart because nothing comes easy,he concluded by adding its now or never.
