Congolese Rhumba maestro Koffi Olomide has been arrested in the Congolese capital, Kinshasa.
As BBC reports, the reason for his arrest is still unclear, but it comes after the 60-year-old musician was arrested and deported from Kenya on Saturday for assaulting one of his dancers in the country’s main airport, JKIA.
Koffi was on Friday caught on camera kicking one of his dancers right in front of police officers, though he later denied assaulting her.
Kenyans on social media could not stand this and joined hands to express their displeasure at the incident and prompting the police to arrest and deport him back to Congo.
On live TV, Koffi claimed that he was protecting his dancers from being robbed while the kicked dancer also denied being assaulted.
Following the incident, Zambian organizers also cancelled the musicians planned events in the country.
