Bungoma Senator has refuted claims that he was contemplating leaving the Coalition of Reforms and Democracy (CORD)

The roumers that he was leaving the Opposition started after it emerged that the three co-principals could not agree on who will be the pary’s flag bearer come 2017

On Monday, October 3, Wetangula dismissed claims that he is parting ways with Cord. He said he was one of the coalition’s founders and that he remains loyal to it.

Wetangula who is also the Senator for Bungoma had on Sunday, asked Raila to support his bid since the Opposition leader had tried several times without success.

“All we are saying is that Raila is our elder and we do respect him but he has tried many times and failed. He should now let someone else give it a try.” Wetangula said as quoted by Tuko.

Then there’s the other rumour by ODM that Wetangula was being sponsored by the Jubilee stalwarts to disintegrate Cord from within.

According to a source within the orange party, Wetangula will most likely find himself alone just like Simeon Nyachae in 2002.
