Barely months to next years general elections, six presidency candidates have indicated that they salivate for the top political seat
Former ODM secretary General Ababu Namwamba made his announcement yesterday, Friday, October 14, at a rally at the Busia Youth Polytechnic.
“If I am elected president, I will ensure equitable distribution of national resourced. I will fight corruption and promote education,” said Namwamba as quoted in the Star.
Aside from Namwamba, other politicians who are also eyeing the top seat in the country in 2022 are Deputy President William Ruto and ODM deputy leader and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.
These two will the main candidates to watch considering the rivalry between President Uhuru’s Jubilee Party and Raila Odinga’s CORD/ODM
The first female candidate to express interest in the seat was Mbita Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo.
She said that the 2022 race should be between a ‘skirt’ and a ‘trouser’ as no lady has ever been elected president of Kenya.
