On Friday October 14, Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti laid her Nigerian husband to rest in Machakos County

It was in that burial ceremony where Nairobi seating senator mike sonko declaired himself the ‘acting kenya’s president’

“Rais Uhuru is in Togo, DP William Ruto ako France I am number three in command politically and socially. I am now the acting president of the republic of Kenya. All these police officers and vehicles you see are here because I am now the acting President,” Sonko said as was quoted on Citizen TV.

However, Wavinya Ndeti came to the defense of Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko and his drunken rumblings at the funeral service.

Ndeti is of the thinking that Sonko did nothing wrong and that it was “unfair” for the MC to attempt to switch off the mic as Sonko was still addressing the mourners.

“He did not cause any chaos. I have no problem with him. He even stayed late with my family and had some of the mourners driven to their homes using his vehicle,” noted Ndeti as quoted by Tuko.

“People ought to respect each other despite political differences. Sonko had a right to speak,” Ndeti defended Sonko as quoted on eDaily.

Sonko caused an uproar with many Kenyans criticising him for declaring himself the acting President of Kenya as both President Uhuru and William Ruto were out of the country.

All hell broke loose when the Master of Ceremonies attempted to switch off Sonko’s mic.

The Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko ordered an investigation into Sonko’s drunken declaration that he was President.

The DPP said Sonko’s comments and behaviour were “disruptive”.
