Kenya Tourism board opted to appoint Eddy Kenzo as their ambassador on May 11, 2017.
The agreement was reached despite Kenya having a host of big stars at their disposal like Sauti Sol and Jaguar.

The campaign dubbed ‘Take a break’ aimed at boasting the Kenyan tourism industry.
“ It’s a great honour and opportunity I have been given to promote the homage, culture, beauty, natural resource,infrastructure and tourism in general of my other mother country Kenya. Under the campaign Take a break”, he posted.
According to Kenya Tourism Board CEO, Betty Radier, Eddy Kenzo was selected because of his huge following not only in Uganda but in east Africa and beyond.
Adding that they could have chosen an artist from the diaspora but they chose a Ugandan and an East African because they need to showcase the local talent and let other people appreciate what East Africa is made of.
Kenzo is also an ambassador for Airtel Uganda.
