Do you remember the hit song by, Saida Karoli, with the lyrics, “chambua kama karanga salome, chambua kama karangaaa…”? Well, Diamond Platnumz and Rayvanny Salome have released a new hit song, Salome, that has borrowed a lot from it.
The video that was released and uploaded on Youtube on 18th September 2016, 5 days ago, has already gathered over 1.7 million views.
The “Kidogo” hit-maker told Tanzania’s Clouds FM that they discussed with Saida Karoli’s managers and gave them some undisclosed amount of money among other benefits that wi come after the video is released.
Diamond opened up on the same Tanzania’s radio station and said that the legendary Tanzanian singer, Saida Karoli, will earn 25% of the total sales from the video.
“Kitu tulichokifanya kabla ya kurelease wimbo, tulizungumza na uongozi wake, tukawaambia tunafanya hiki na hiki na kuna kiasi pia tukakitoa ili kiende kwake halafu tukampa 25% ya publishing. Kila income ya publishing ikiwa inaingia katika huu wimbo, mama atakuwa anapata percent,”
The original hit song, “Salome” was first released 16 years ago and was a hit song then through out East Africa.
