Eyewitness says he tied a rope around his neck, made sure it was tight enough and fastened it on a branch before throwing himself off.

He died minutes later.

This comes hours after news went viral that an IEBC presiding officer at the Imara Daima polling station left suicide note saying that his death was as a result of IEBC’s failure to deliver a credible, free and fair election.

Orenge Nyabicha was found dead in his house in Quarry-Pipeline estate on Saturday morning August 12th. The deceased worked as IEBC’s presiding officer at the Imara Daima polling station.

Relatives reported that Nyabiche was disturbed when he arrived home after concluding his work at the Imara Daima polling station.

Apparently the deceased was disheartened by what he witnessed at work; the suicide note he left behind read that Nyabicha was frustrated with ‘IEBC’s failure to deliver a credible, free and fair election’.

Police broke into Nyabiche’s house after concerned neighbours raised the alarm, they found the deceased’s body which they took to City Mortuary.

The Standard confirmed that a post-mortem conducted at the City Mortuary revealed Nyabiche died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

The suicide note he left behind is now in the possession of police at Embakasi Village Station.
