Two dormitories were completely destroyed after buildings at St Patrick’s Iten High School in Elgeyo Marakwet County caught fire on Tuesday night .
Firefighters from Eldoret were called in to help put off the blaze which was spreading fast to other buildings
The cause of the fire remains unknown and no injuries reported so far.
Confirming the incident, Keiyo North police boss Fredrick Ochieng said the cause of the fire has not been established but investigations into the incident have been launched.
“No one was injured as students were in their classes. We have launched investigations to determine the cause and possibly arrest suspects if we find out that the fire was deliberately started,” he said.
The St. Patrick’s incident follows the indefinite closure of Chebiemit Boys’ secondary school in Marakwet West after rowdy students threatened to burn down the school’s dormitories on Monday
