A married man, driving the top-of-the-range vehicle was recently involved in a nasty crash along the Thika super highway in the company of his lover (not wife).
According to the source, the man was the model husband, or so he was thought. He even developed a tendency of dropping and picking his wife, causing envy to many.
On the said date, he had just dropped his wife at her work place and told her that he was headed straight to his office in Westlands, but promised her that he would pick her up later in the day.
But at around 2pm the same day, as fate would have it, the wife was called from work and was given the news that her husband, who has been identified as Nduati, had been involved in a nasty road accident in the company of an unknown female passenger.
The call didn’t make sense at first since she had not expected her husband to be in that side of town at that particular moment.
She rushed to the hospital and indeed, she found out that her husband was in the hospital’s High Dependency Unit and was in bad shape.
His female companion was not as hurt, she was awake but shaken.
Determined to unravel the mystery surrounding the incident, the woman confronted the girl, asking her what she was doing with her husband on the highway while he was supposed to be at work.
Cornered, the 22-year-old girl dropped the bomb. She revealed that she had been seeing the man for the past six months and was from a lunch date with him when they were involved in the nasty crash.
But she was not done, the girl was in the mood to spill more beans perhaps because of the sedatives flowing in her brain. She narrated how she was a constant visitor to the man’s house when the wife was on leave.
As kind as it may seem on face value, the gesture by the man now lying in hospital and breathing with the assistance of oxygen cylinders, to always pick his wife fro and to work, was to cover his tracks by ensuring she never left work and came home unannounced.
The woman caused drama at the health facility as she shouted at the top of her voice for whoever cared to listen, and may be her husband, to take note that she was going to kick him out of her house as soon as he got discharged from hospital.
